Lip Lust: MAC Cremesheen Glass in Deelight

I haven't done a 'Lip Lust' post in a couple of weeks because I've been simply hooked on one product. I thought MAC's Creemesheen Glass in Deelight was limited edition as I got it in a travel set earlier in the year, but a lovely subscriber informed me that it's not so I thought I'd share my current lip obsession with you all!
It's the perfect nude gloss in my opinion. It's got lovely payoff, it's smooth and creamy (not sticky), it tastes lovely and stay on for ages. If I'm honest I don't use the rest of my MAC lipglosses as much as i should, but this is a constant staple in my everyday makeup bag. I did my sister-in-laws makeup for her wedding back in September, and she chose to wear this.
In my opinion, lipglosses don't get much better than this! They are more expensive than most at £16 but it's one of the few lipglosses I know that I'll finish and repurchase time and time again.

How to Find the Best Lip Color: An Interview With Bobbi Brown
Bobbi Brown is a makeup artist and the founder of Bobbi Brown Cosmetics. She is the author of four books, including Bobbi Brown Living Beauty (Springboard Press).
The ideal neutral lip color is like the perfect pair of jeans: It is a basic that you can dress up or down, and it will always look great on you.
• Put it in neutral. The most versatile lipstick you can own is a shade that's just a bit brighter than your natural lip color. It will even out and define your lips the way a subtle coat of mascara draws attention to your eyes. For some people, that color is a peachy brown or rosy pink; for an African-American woman, it might be eggplant. Keep in mind that a neutral lipstick shouldn't be the color of concealer (a look that only works on the runway) and that a matte lipstick that is lighter than your natural lip color will wash out your face.
• Try it right. Use the middle of your lower lip as a guide when looking for the right color, and try lipstick on in the daylight for the most accurate assessment. If you've tested more than three or four shades, take a break—your lips will be stained. You may also need to find a new color if you've been out in the sun a lot, since your lips might be darker.
• Know yourself. As a makeup artist, I learned quickly that the color of your lips affects the way a lipstick looks. If you see your friend wearing a great color, don't assume it will be right for you. Her shade might look ashy or muddy on your lips.
• Mix it up. Every season has its lipstick trend, and just because your perfect color is a pinky beige, that doesn't mean you can't wear deep burgundy. Apply one coat of your neutral, then add a thin coat of wine, burgundy, or any other color you want to try on top. Even the craziest lipstick shade can be adjusted to suit your coloring.

Chanel: Summer 2011 Makeup Collection First Look
Can I just say my coral-lurvin’ heart nearly burst into a million tiny pieces when I laid eyes on this promo pic for the upcoming Le Fleurs D’ete De Chanel Makeup Collection for Summer 2011?

Coco and company say they drew inspiration from fresh flowers and summer gardens — picture shimmery pink lips, bronzed skin, and eyes and nails the colors of verdant green gardens and the bright summer sun.
We can expect…
- Face — Do you recall the Soleil Tan de Chanel Bronzing Powder from Cote D’Azur? Well, the Bronze Corail compact, the beauty with the four stripes of color in the middle of the pic, is the same idea with different shades. All four of the stripes are designed to be mixed together before being applied. For Le Fleurs D’ete De Chanel, Coco plans to release two limited edition Soleil Tan de Chanel Bronzer compacts ($50 each). Light-skinned lovelies can look forward to the one called Bronze Rose, and darker-toned babes to Bronze Corail (the one shown here).
- Lips — Lips will glow in two new Glossimers shades, one a coral and the other a rosy pink ($28.50 each; I don’t have the names yet).
- Nails — Last, but not least, our fingers and toes will sap up the bright summer sun in a shimmery yellow Le Vernis Nail Polish for $25.

Tips, Tricks & Inspiration for your Valentine's Day Look
While love shouldn’t be about looks, Valentine’s Day is a fantastic opportunity to show of your “flirty side” by adding a little extra “oomph” to your look. You may be going out with a special someone or staying home with your cat...Let these makeup ideas inspire you to feel a little more romantic. Wear red lipstick. It’s a dramatic look that doesn’t always work for “every day” events. But it’s Valentine’s day, let’s paint the world red! Before you just go out and it on, make sure you’ve got the right color. Some argue that true red looks good on everyone, but for those of you who might feel a little insecure try this: If you have cool skin tones (aka “winter” or “summer” tones) try wearing berry tinted reds (reds that have slightly more blue pigment). If you have warm skin tones (aka “fall” or “spring” tones) try wearing reds that have more orange pigment than blue. Also, if you’re wearing red lipstick, I would tracing a thin outline of your lips for a really polished look. Pouty lips are sensual.
Expecting a smooch? Try lip stain
Lip gloss can be gooey, sticky and unpleasantly flavored (I’ve heard guys complain!), so if you’re worried about perfectly datable lips, try using lip stains. It’s a really simple way to add color without the fuss of re-application or smudge fears. Make sure you experiment with how much or how little works for you before the big day, because it takes a while to wash off and no one wants splotchy lips on Valentine’s day!
Emphasize the eyes. Eyes are the window to the soul, so on Valentine’s lets give them pretty window treatments. ...Okay, well, I had to try the metaphor! This Valentine’s day, go for really a really fresh and shimmering look. Pastel shadows are IN this spring, so try wearing coral! I don’t believe that there’s only one color that makes eyes look better than others, but I do know that highlighting the brow with a shimmer that is lighter than the skin always makes them “pop!” You will want your man to look straight into your eyes when he declares his undying love for you, you don’t want him staring at your eye makeup—so remember, less is more! Glitter and be gay! After slathering my face in glitter all through grade school, I had to separate myself from the addictive substance for a few years before I learned how to “work it.” Now, I’m starting to see the trend in makeup where flecks of glitter are present. Valentine’s day is the perfect time to hop on the Glitter Bandwagon because it’s all about romance and whimsy. It makes you feel pretty if you are out with friends or alone with your favorite novel. Let out your inner shine!
Instant makeover. Want to look a little extra special? Try some quick and easy tips that will tweak your look for the better: Tweeze your eyebrows and use an eyebrow pencil for an extra polished look, tackle problem zits with Clean and Clear spot treatment (this stuff works fast!), use a foundation primer like Smashbox’s Photo finish for more even looking skin tone, dust on a little bronzer for a healthy glow.
Pretty fingers. Don’t forget about your fingernails! He may be holding your hand tonight, so make sure your hands are clean are your fingers are freshly polished. Wear Valentine’s day related colors like pale pink or black cherry. If you’re a single lady, why not have your friends over and give each other manicures?
The Obvious. The most basic beauty tip for looking great on Valentine’s Day is: take care of yourself. Get those extra z’s the weekend before, wear sun-block and drink lots of water. If you’re like me, it’s easy to neglect those beauty basics so let’s pretend that going to bed at 10 instead of 1 is pampering ourselves. This is a tip that will benefit us all in the long haul.

This is a great look for Valentine's Day. Notice how you are drawn to her eyes and lips, neither one overpowering the other? That's the goal: balance. Her berry red lips look healthy and supple.
