MAC creates collection designed for Middle Eastern skin tones

Teaming up with their Director of Makeup Artistry for India, award-winning Bollywood makeup artist Mickey Contractor, MAC Cosmetics is taking another step towards its credo "All Ages, All Races, All Sexes."
The "Mickey Contractor" collection is a line of foundations and concealers in shades "perfectly calibrated" for Indian and Middle Eastern skin tones, as well as color products designed to create looks ranging from super natural to vibrantly flattering on such olive and golden complexions.
And, to be honest, I found a lot of the bright eye shadows and fluidline eye liners to be flattering on my pasty pale white skin and blue eyes as well! So don't shy away from the color cosmetics if you're not of Middle Eastern decent!
For more on the collection which launched yesterday, keep reading...

"My whole idea was to try and minimize the old Bollywood style of makeup as much as possible - it used to be all about thick panstick and pancake," Mickey said. "I wanted it to look more modern, more real, and more today. Closer to what Hollywood does...itmakes it more believable."
My favorites from the collection are definitely the striking eye products. Two turquoise and green Fluidlines were created because Mickey felt they were missing from his kit.
"To create shades like these, I was having to use an eye pencil and then put a powder shadow over it," he said. "Since everyone was asking how to recreate them I thought why not make it so they can have it in one pot and just paint it on?"
I think the eye shadow quad designed to create Mickey's classicly soft smoky eye will also be a big hit with Middle Eastern complexions with two shimmery and two matte shades. I myself enjoy the light golden shade.
"I love using browns and earthy tones," he said. "so I've called this quad Athma, which means soul, since it's the look I'm most known for."
